THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

by: Robert Frost |

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted

wean
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Were All Children

"Children are the tender little crop of human beings
sown by each successive generation. They require the
water of life called Love, they require the cultivation of
life called Guidance, they require the protection of life
called Wisdom. In this way, a child grows as a beautiful
oak: strong, straight and tall, to drop acorns of life on
the ground beneath, to take up the course that nature
has intended."

Townhouse
Apartments

Staffed by a Head of Residence and 13 Resident Assistants, the townhouse apart-
ments provide an alternative for those students interested in an innovative and
independent living situation.

Life in the townhouses differ from that of the other dorms. The dorm council
sponsors some activities such as. Holiday parties, Dinners, Hoop contests, Cookouts,
and Backgammon tournaments.

The main responsibility of entertainment lies in the needs and wants of each
individual. This can either be a quiet time to study, or an opportunity to relax, unwind,
and enjoy your neighbors.

Townhouse memories of playing frisbee on warm days listening to the stereo, or
having snowball fights in a raging blizzard, will never be forgotten.

BERKSHIRE
TOWERS

Staffed by a Head of Residence and 16 Resident Assistants.
Berkshire towers is a contempory co-ed dorm. An active dorm
council keep the twin towers hopping. Window decorating con-
tests, and tree decorating are two of the many group activities
residents partake in.

Not only are activities modes of getting people together, the
suite system creates some dynamic situations, from practical

jokes on your roommates, to great floor parties.

Life in Berkshire towers is a happy atmosphere where you can
always see a smiling face. On warm days memories consist of
sunning on the front deck listening to someones stereo from up on
the 8th floor.

Greylock
Hall

Greylock Hall, unlike the other dorms, is locat-
ed off-campus. It is an all woman dorm that
houses 50. The women in Greylock develop close
friendships because of the small living quarters.
Cookouts and informal parties create a family-
type atmosphere.

OFF-CAMPUS
LIVING

Off-campus living is for the student who wants to go it alone. No rules of the
dorm or restrictions, you come and go as you please. Life off -campus is the
independent student's dream. The atmosphere is usually relaxed and happy.
Parties are no strangers to off-campus students, you can always find several
mega-parties on Friday and Saturday night, remember Church Street ?

Upperclassmen usually find that off-campus living is better suited for their
study and living habits. Memories for the off -campus student is of wild parties,
quiet times with friends and neighbors, and great roommates.

Every year students wait for this day, a day when they can return to their
childhood. Mother always said not to get so dirty, but dirty is the order of the day.

Whomever is the most daring and gets the dirtiest, wins the title of king and
queen pig, a trophy is awarded to the winners and everyone heads for the showers.

Intramurals

The ancient Greeks recognized the importance

of physical activity. The intramurals program at

North Adams State College provides all students

with an outlet to remain physically active.

The intramural calendar offers something for

every caliber athlete. Different divisions and

different sports help to make intramurals

competitive and fun. This year the intramural

program reached a new high with eighty percent

student participation. Obviously, the Greeks are

not the only ones to recognize the importance of

physical fitness.

Determined to preserve the all-important memories of college life,
the MOHA WK staff started from scratch to provide the finest year-
book produced by NASC students. New skills were learned, frustra-
tions were met head-on, late hours accumulated as the yearbook
became a reality. The 1980 MOHA WK became a yearbook for the
whole student body.

"It's an experience you'll never forget" was the commonest re-

mark. We hope it captures the experiences you'll never forget, too.
Many thanks are given to the many people who helped and contrib-
uted to our effort. The Mohawk is a young organization, but it is our
hopes to see it become a respected, vital contributor to the learning
experience acquired at NASC. A Special Thanks to Judy Jones for her
help and understanding during the long, late hours while in produc-
tion of this book.

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

No man is an Island, entire of its self j

Everyman is a piece of the Continent-

A part of the mainj

If a clod be washed away by the Sea,

Europe is the lesser;

As well as if a Promontory were.

MM

Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know

for whom the bell tollsi
It tolls for thee.
